i know a lot of the tricks to doing vinyl siding .but what do you do when your using contemporary construction windows that own the J-channel built in.when you slide the siding losing it what keeps the weather/water from getting between the siding and skylight?its not weather tight.if you seal around it doesn't that affect the siding from self able to float or move so it won't buckle.also ive be looking at a lot of newlt built houses contained by the area that are vinyl sided and hold noticed like mad of them were done horribly, the siding be very coiled.i can under stand elder houses being covered vinyl siding have waves/buckles in them, but modern houses, whats going on?are they all approaching this because im paying more attention to it now that im siding or what.plus anymore hints at siding much appreciated
Answers:    You can use the j-trim explicitly built around the window, but my suggestion is that you set the skylight in and next caulk before you slide your siding surrounded by place, there should be plenty of room for the siding, once you enjoy done this then you involve to seal the glass with caulk to prevent water/weather mischief from happening. The siding will not buckle here because you will not fastener it tight. Never nail siding tight, it have to be able to move.

When flaccid siding, take the claw of the sledge hammer and slip it between the nail and siding. There should be simply enough clearance for the claw of the tack hammer, adjust as needed.

Make sure you are allowing enough room at the ends, so that the siding moves freely but do not give up your job a gap, in attendance should be 1/16-1/8 inch clearance at each closing stages.

The trick is to make sure that it's not nail tightly or to loose at the ends.
You seal around the window. No the seal stuff is generous of rubbery and expands and contracts withe the weather. New houses contractors try to rip you off and amass a dollar every way they can.
