Using wallpaper creatively? I don't want to wallpaper the entire room, but use a bold...

I don't want to wallpaper the entire room, but use a bold wallpaper in some of the room- could someone please suggest an influential way to do this- i.e. creating 'panels' on the wall, using one strip down a side wall- any other suggestions please?

I hold seen this heaps times but instead of papering the wall, you could paint it in a focus colour, from the chosen thesis, and put said paper within three equally sized picture frames, preferably large ones.
