Answers:    Depending on what you have, why don't you start a shadow box (you can buy to a certain extent large ones at IKEA or brand name your own) and build it with your memories. Then you might not touch that you have to keep hold of everything...just one point that reminds you of a moment in time and put it contained by the shadow box cleverly. Check out the internet for ideas of how to set it up. People can build honestly wide ones and put even tea cups within the them. You could put pictures, one small stuffed toy, poems, books, etc. You probably wouldn't feel so discouraging when you part beside some things because you will have such a wonderful keepsake. The other model is to choose a small carved trunk that can be kept at the end of the bed or below a window and maintain only what will fit within there. It is easier said than done, but you don't want to start out with your investigational husband with clutter. It may adjectives mean something to you, but you and your husband will in a minute start to build new memories...you can maintain them all contained by your heart but not all contained by your house.
Good Answer SLR! I too am a collector and have done a shadow box for my favorite people items. What you see now as a treasure will be "JUNK" when you are 60 and your kids more than probable will wonder why you kept it. But then equally your new husband must be predisposed to share your new space next to you and it shouldn't be all just about him and his stuff either. That is what wedding ceremony is all in the order of "sharing" Take it from me I have be there through 40 years of conjugal to the same man. Lol
