We would like some suggesstions on a backsplash for our kitchen in our loft. We want to build sure we are picking the correct colors to compliment the room. Thanks.
Stainless steel tiles would add a modern touch. Tumbled slate tiles would be really tasteful, and depending on the size (1 inch x 2 inch subway tiles) would be modern, too. Another option would be natural chalice tiles...they would have kind of a washed-out green frosted color. Good luck! Before you make a decision on your backsplash preserve in mind cherry wood darkens over time. If nearby is alot of natural sunlight in your kitchen the faster the wood will darken.

I tiled a subsidise splash in a 850,000 $ house.. It had cherry and the uba tuba granite and looked great.. I took a unprocessed stone( a tumbled marble) and Incorporated 12x12 uba tuba granite pcs that were cut down into 2x2 pcs along w/ some matching 2x2 pcs of the tumbled marble because it s available also within same color as the 4x4 tumbled marble to tie all the colors in together. Some places on a diagonal some straight lay . All together w/ the cabinet and granite and the matching granite in the backsplash it be fantastic GL This is just an opinion OK. My latest place has the blackish/greenish granite counters and I really do not like them. This house here, have cutter block and oak cabinets which are great. Cherry Cabinets would look real nice. Granite can gash. We do not have one scratch on the cutter block counter and they are 20 years ancient. Just my opinion.
Answers:    Ubatuba may work well with Cherry cabinet in some people's opinion. I would suggest you to compare more colors. There are so various granite colors available. Some look very close but have big price differences. I one-sidedly think pure black countertop (or black galaxy) matches "cherry" best. In auxiliary, a black countertop make it easier to choose a floor color.

You can find a complete list of granite colors at:

This is freshly my opinion.
