Before I leave for work, I turn my AC off nearly 2 hours early. The cool energy disappeared in the rooms stays cool enough earlier I leave for me to get prepared for work. In addition, if I leave the shades down and the ceiling hanger-on on low the room stays cooler longer and sometimes its still cool when i get home from work 10 hours later. Is what I'm doing wrong?
No it is not wrong.It is a vastly smart habit to get into.I do pretty much equal thing. Also...check into a programmable thermostat and solar panels (for some extra electricity savings) .big , big nest egg.
If you enjoy central air you own no need to shut it off as you set it for a solid temp and it will only run as needed if it goes over that temp. Better nonetheless get a controlled thermostat that allows you to set the temps for different times of the day or dark. If you have a window component you have no choices. Solar panels? you stingy like go to Walmart and buy some solar panel for $39.99 each? or do you mean contact ASES contained by California and have them install solar panels within my apartment for $400,000 saving me on electrical energy? DAAAAAA!

Not a good idea. I've have two ceiling fans go desperate and nearly started a fire while they were in operation...and I happen to be in the room when it happened (once at my parents house when I be a kid, the other last week in my own home).
It would be wiser to go and get yourself a programmable thermostat (I have one) as suggested; program it to adjust the temp when you get up surrounded by the morning, leave, come home, and go to bed. Then, consider operating the ceiling fan only when you are home.
I sure am glad I was home ending week when mine started smelling like it was burning.
