or should I find light blue ticking?

Answers:    It might overwhelm the insubstantial blue toile. The lighter one would probably be better.

That said, I have a bit of a bias against dim curtains. I like paler shades that maximize lighting.

I would go near the ticking. I don't think the obscurity heavy ones are the right mood for the toile. You could even run with something night light and airy in a white. I estimate it would compliment your toile. Good luck!
