Tips on Sprucing up an Apartment? I have a 1200 square foot one bedroom next to a den...

I have a 1200 square foot one bedroom next to a den and a private entrace/stairway (It's a second floor unit). My boyfriend decided he requirements to put a little money into sprucing up the place...I'm not sure what it really wants. I'm going to transition out the Christmas decorations, and I have be pretty season/holiday themed. It's rented so we're not going to paint, but we do have buff carpet, walls, and couches (poor and straight out of college we took what be free from mom). Walls, we have nice framed pictures of us, kith and kin, friends, and black and white scapes (he photographs). I'm thinking some rich colored curtains (reds, blues, or such).

I'd love more decorating/sprucing ideas that are simple all the same bold.
Answers:    If you're in beigeland, generate the most of it. Use either a gorgeous rich blue or a rich red as your main decorate color. Offset it with plentifully of ivory to pull everything together.

I'd probably do drapes near a large, poised print. Blue and cream are great. You can even make the drapes pretty natural if you buy an oddlot from JoAnn Fabrics. Figure out the length you need by measure the window and use 1.5 x the thickness and the actual length +8 inches. If you can cut and pin them straight, use an easy hem stitch and sew them by foot. It goes really fast and easy. Or if you or a friend is fitting with a sewing electrical device, just set the stitch length to the longest possible and it sews immensely quickly. I've gotten a unbroken bolt of a gorgeous $72 thermal lined designer textile for $4/yard at JoAnn's. It's worth the look for a week or two as they get adjectives the odd lots surrounded by from the end of end year.

Then get a massive area rug to bring contained by more color, pattern and texture. Just find one you really love and budge for it.

Another really easy style to dress up a small space is with the little touches that donate some elegance. Get a divine tablecloth, cloth napkins, crystal wine glasses (dollar stores enjoy great ones) and a 4-place setting of some beautiful china from the nearest thrift store. Set your table close to it's a formal meal every time. Even seize some inexpensive silver candle holders and some lipstick red tapers and use them around the apartment and on the table. It's a wonderful mode to add some chic and is unspeakably inexpensive.
