Okay folks, I have something like 1500 sq ft of tile to lay down and I need to hear some opinion. I already have a tile saw that I used for a portion of one of the bathrooms. The point about to be precise the fact that it be very messy and also immensely tedious. I am very soon debating on buying a manual tile cutter, you know the ones that you ranking the tile and then break it. I want to know what you adjectives think. Should I walk ahead and buy it to save myself the hassle of the mess, hum, and time it takes to step outside to cut every tile. Please respond quickly as I am surrounded by the process of the project as I write this.

Answers:    I have used both. The saw is messy, you are right, but if you are adjectives the thicker tiles like for the floor, you really call for to use the saw.

For cutting the scrawny tiles like for walls, I love the tile cutter. I used it on the tiles for my bathroom walls and my kitchen counter tops and it's unforced and not messy. Just use a good ruler or square to etch the lines, afterwards crack it off on a sharp boundary. Sometimes you can get a gear that includes the tool for cracking the tiles. That tool works very resourcefully for cracking the tiles in straight lines. You can also grasp a nibbling tool for cracking bad small corners or curves. I used one, it worked very all right, for some pieces I used pliers as a nibbler.

For my floor tiles I had to use the saw because they be too thick to use the tile cutter. It be messy and I had to wear sanctuary glasses because of the sparks and flying pieces.
