We have some rising mushy in our spare room which have caused the wallpaper to start to come away and want to be replaced. At the moment it looks like bubbling plaster underneath near some salty deposits. We're getting a course of moisten proofing done on the house as a permanent remedy but we hold family visit for a few weeks soon so we need to do a bit of a impermanent fix in the be determined time.
We're stripping the existing wallpaper and brushing down the bubbling plaster and wash down beside bleach. We've been advise that PVA or anti-damp paint will do the trick until we get the lasting job done. But do we use both PVA and personal ad paint or just one of them? If it's of late the one then which will do the better mission?
Please don't just reply near "get the builders round" - resembling I said, this is just a short-term fix and we're on a pretty tight schedule! Thanks everyone.
if its merely a quick fix you want years ago associates use to paste on to the wall baking foil and later paper over it this held put money on the discolourisation of the paper for a bit .it did work as my dad use to do it hope this help and is what you are looking for
Q for you. Why not smooth down the wall and re paste the wallpaper. Even if it have empty spots aft it, it will look better than what you are doing.
Too much work for such a small visit.
Just to do it right next? Why not just do it right very soon?
Rigged things tend not to last.
Good Luck!

Answers: Clean wall first next to damp cloth, consent to it dry then apply pva, consent to that dry then paint the wall or re broadsheet but size the wall with wallpaper mash first, should hold for a while.
