Answers:    its messy but you enjoy to scrape it down mud it sand it grease prime and paint if its old it will come down graceful but it does suck after you scrape it down grease prime only after mudding and sand or the paint will just prepare right off

Acoustic ceiling are different from popcorn ceilings. Acoustical ceiling have the tiles that you can remove. If you denote popcorn ceilings, you can try a paint scraper to see how well it will strip off the ceiling. Starting is the toughest to get hold of an areas scraped off, but once you enjoy a patch cleared, just drag your scraper along the drywall ceiling and it should start coming rotten in sheets.
