Substitute spiral CFL for "B" substructure incandescent? I have a ceiling fan that call for 2 X 40 watt...

I have a ceiling fan that call for 2 X 40 watt "B" bulbs. I know that "B" bulbs are decorative bulbs, the elongated, flame shaped bulb used in chandeliers. 2 X 40 W bulbs, whether incandescent or CFL's, are simply soft enough for the room. The light fixture is not totally sheltered, the lights are covered with a dome but not right up tight to the fixture. I know that I can use CFL's either equivelant to 40 W bulbs or high because of the lower wattage of CFL's. So, I want to use CFL's that are equivelant to 100 bulbs, the wattage of each would be 23 W, I know I'm okay there. The problem is that CFL's within the "B" shape aren't available in anything over 40 W. Is there any problem beside using the spiral CFL's even thought the fixture calls for "B" bulbs.
Answers:    Many ceiling fans hold a dimmer for their lights, which is not compatible with florescent bulbs, CFL or otherwise. You'll need incandescent bulbs for use beside a dimmer. But if the lights only have an on-off switch, you should be capable of use CFL bulbs as long as the power rating is not exceeded.
