i would like to play loud music but...well you catch it..

are there ways to soundproof the room?

and does it actually work?

Answers:    most of ur problem will be next to the ceiling.some sound waves will travel from the wall studs to the upper floor..nouns is the best insulator.u dont want 2 or more material touching each other this will basically cause vibration near is sound.u can install a "V" channel on the ceiling 12" oc and install sheetrock on the vessel...it will give u a fur down of about 2 inches..later u can install a dropped ceiling 12 below that with insulation on top of the ceiling tile...
