Skirting boards? I want to fix my own skirting board but would like information...

I want to fix my own skirting board but would like information on how to receive the corners to meet properly. Any one know of a simple approach to get the cut right or a pattern site that could inform using photos, diagram or preferably video via media player. Failing that any virtuous joiners out there who could confer me a tip on how to do it. The skirting I am looking at using will not be plain but patterned.
Answers:    You will involve to obtain a mitre board, This will contribute you all external joint. To give you internal joint you will need to lay the piece you are in place to lay on the floor and rest another small piece on edge to return with the pattern of the skirting on the other facade that you are abutting to and cut to suit. Do not use mitre board for internal joints as they will eventually clear and crack.
Use a mitre saw or a mitre block.
