I am in the process of finishing my subterranean vault. Im at the point to have runner installed. The carpet folks are recounting me the base trim should be installed prior to the hearth rug being installed - and should it in the region of 1/2" off the floor. The trim guy is describing me the carpet should be installed first.

Answers:    Install the rug first. You will hold to have a tool to verbs the carpet tight. Then you will own to fasten it down. You have to have gone to a cheap rug installer to receive the answer you got. If you installed the trim first what considerate of a mess would you be seeing When your tacked down the mat. I would not use the carpet installers as you would not be pleased with their suggestion as you would be next to their installation. I may be a woman but I know this is the right answer for you.
