For the floor, or counter?
For the floor, I prefer tile. It looks nicer, and wear better. Linoleum tends to obtain nicks surrounded by it, and look shoddy.
As For the counter, the two are kind of a toss up. We have tile counters in my kitchen for years. Keep surrounded by mind that the grout will be a bit tougher to clean, and you'll necessitate to "treat" the grout about every 6 months-1 year, to hang on to it in right shape. Do you have a pub counter? We had problems next to cracking tiles, because the barstool arms kept banging the tiles. If this is the sort, make sure the barstools dont own arms. Laminant on the other hand is cheaper, and easier to verbs. However, after a few years of use, it really shows it's age.

The tiles I select look just approaching ceramic, on the other hand they have a 30 yr. gaurantee...look Phenominal, and are a green freindly solution! They are not the cheapest alternative, but they are cheaper than terracotta, more durable, and look identical to earthenware...slightly more expensive than linoleum...they have SOOO heaps styles to choose from! I chose a random stencil of rust, navy, blk, and hunter...sounds extraordinary, but it is GORGEOUS! Check them out! They also have a hardwood looking (SERIOUSLY CAN't relay difference) floor with inlays explicitly what I am doing in my Dining Room because 2 catch the level of detail contained by wood would sink me! Laminate tends to warp & skin in bathrooms and kitchens...SEVERAL flooring individuals discouraged its use in those areas to me.
