Shabby Chic Furniture? I was wondering if it is a requirment that the shabby chic...

I was wondering if it is a requirment that the shabby chic like furnitures that I plan on selling are antique or pre-owned? Or it's okay that they are tentative furnitures made to look old and distressed? I really want to get within the business.. just a little confused if im supposed to check out flea market or antique stores instead of having new furnitures manufactured to look feeble..

Answers:    OLD IS BETTER! It looks old because it IS aged! I own a store in boston and people other ask me "How old is it??" Its better to say 60 yrs. Then 1 month!!

Have you done any souk research on this? I mean, the competition, Sally Army and Goodwill, get their stock for free, and they supply it for really cheap.

And having lived with this decor adjectives my life, I never found anyone that shared my enthusiasm for it.

I mean, my bed is a second paw mattress & springs on a plywood slab raised up on milk crates.
