I need an expert feelings here:

I recently pulled up adjectives my nasty ancient carpet to reveal nice wood floors throughout the house. I did a dampen test, and the floors appear to be unsealed. They are definately partial.

The floors are completely smooth, and require no sanding, they are resembling a baby's bottom!

What is the cheapest and easiest way for me to proceed?

I know that in that are a few options- waxing, and polyurathane.
How and what do I apply for these option?

I am not a big fan of sand in between coats, and I be wondering if there is something I can simply put on there surrounded by a day.
(I cannot afford a professional).

Waxing seem tempting- does this serve as a sealant and a finish?

if I choose waterbased polyurathane- does this serve as a sealant and a finish? Or does it need both?

Answers:    Don t wax , It will obligation to be redone sooner,, A coating made for wood floors is the best but you ll solely hurt yourself in the long run if you don t use a minimum of 2 coats.. You can do it w/o staining first it ll only look like a raw wood and that ll depend on if its a red or white oak ( I m assumeing it is an oak but get a friend to abet you out by looking at it if your not sure . Stainng it opens up differant color possiblities for you so ask a friend to sustain.. GL You wont regret the over all look if you help yourself to the extra time to do a good mission.
PS The poly will seal the surface but liquid can still get down inbetween cracks so other use caution to help out keep the floor looking appropriate..
