Revamping kitchen unit? I was thinking of using some kitchen cupboard paint to paint...
I was thinking of using some kitchen cupboard paint to paint the door fronts of my unit and then put some handle on them just to adjectives them up abit. Any other ideas> I cannot afford a kitchen make over.
Homebase and B&Q both market this stuff on a roll where you trim the backing stale and stick it to anything you like. I changed boring plain white cupboards into beech or be it oak wood effect cupboards. Everyone loves them! I will be changing my worktops to black granite or marble effect a.s.a.p. Check out your local DIY for inspiration and fitting luck.
I used tong and grooved wood on mine, on top of the imaginative paintwork, then varnished them, to pass the old world farmstead kitchen look.. you can buy some really cute handles surrounded by the shape of knives/forks/spoons.
For the work surfaces I bought some large floor tiles, (red victim tiles) and covered the surfaces, then grouted and hermetically sealed them, edging them with rounded border tiles.
Add to this some draping Ivy plants and accessories, and conceivably some cottage pictures, gingham curtains, pelmets, and you have the farmstead look, inexpensive and clean looking
Happy house make-over !
