Replacing runner surrounded by rental? I have been renting an apartment for nearly 2 years now and...

I have been renting an apartment for nearly 2 years now and my dog has a devastating habit of pissing on the stairs. Carpet cleaning will not remove the stench. I wanted to know if it is better to replace that division of carpet and padding myself a bit than having the landlord do it, who might find some "reason" for charging me to replace adjectives the carpet. The unit is going on for 15 years old and the carpet have never been replaced, so I do not want him to use this as an opportunity to replace all the runner at my expense.
Answers:    If you do this you will probably have to replace the whole room.
The problem is the urine get down inside the pad.
You could pull the runner back, rip out the old wipe, bring a sample to home depot to match it up & replace the filling.
Have the carpets proffesionally cleaned. The only problem is, how impossible are the stains (urine is very difficult to remove) Are the stains in one nouns or throughout.
Hope this helped
Interesting question.

I dream up the life of carpets is in the region of 7 years... So the carpets are well used.

Have you tried odor removers next to a proven record?

Used that to potty train our dogs.

If I thought my landlord would try that I probably would replace the stair carpet, but after the dog knows where to travel.
