Hi,
We are trying to replace part of the bathroom floor tile( age of bathroom 13 years old).
So we measured the tile and it be 4 1/4 inch square. Now went to home depot and bought a white tile 4 1/4 inch square and when lay that , found out that it looks slightly bigger and they are not aligning with the dated tiles that are already in place. It be looking so odd so we halt the proccess and are asking for help as we are first timers.
We measured the prehistoric tile again and found it was purely a little shy of 4 1/4 inch.......a fundamentally small difference........it is definately not 4 inches
please do help
what are we doing wrong......is within a tile measuring a short time less that 4 1/4 inch and more than 4 inch?????
I'm sorry you hold to learn these things the unyielding way. You will never meeting the tiles,
When ever you buy tiles to do a job they must adjectives be bought at the same time and sort sure the batch # on the boxes are adjectives the same #
Here is what you call for to do.
Plan on removing all the tile contained by your bath and replacing it beside new tile of your choice.
If a job worth doing it worth doing it right.
Only wrong entity you're doing is to assume that the tile makers wouldn't translate the size in adjectives these years. A 2 x 4 isn't 2 x 4 any more either.
You won't be capable of hide it. If you don't mind looking at it after continue on. If you can't stand how it looks afterwards you should replace the whole floor.
Answers: Tear it adjectives out
Besides there are so abundant better choices than 4 inch tile on the floor anyway, 4 inch tiles are rarely put on floors anymore, compassionate of dated
Go with a unconscious stone, travertine or tumbled marble
or many porcelain or stoneware choices in 12 inch tile
