My little brother took a sharpie and scribbled all over the living room wall.

How do I go and get the same color paint so I can re-paint the wall.
(How to transport a sample color to Wal-Mart)
Answers:    As sutla said-the easiest track is to bring home samples and obtain as close to the color as you can and re paint the entire wall corner to corner.Even if it is not an exact match, color clever, people wont spy it.Also match the shine-it will be flat, satin or semi explain, most likely.
What is more critical to your problem is that in need priming the sharpie,it will bleed through,no matter how tons coats you apply.Prime with a shellac base primer or oil based(NO ACRYLIC)primer.Use bin or kilz brand-kilz is grease and BIN or bulls-eye is white shellac.Prime over the marker and tolerate it dry-you might just want to prime twice as sharpie stains are tough to cover even if you do admin to scrub most of it off.
Unless you enjoy the original can of paint your gonna hold to paint the entire wall anyhow or you will see lines from the old and hot paint. You better off newly going to wall mart and finding a color that is closest to what you own now. Make sure to acquire the same finish (satin or semi explain or whatever you have). Sometimes if you lucky you can find something around the house that match the color on the wall and take that surrounded by as a reference. Good Luck
