Is it generally cost prohibitive to refurbish an matured couch that you love as compared with getting a contemporary one? I have a red velvet couch from probably the 70's next to these quilty button thingys throughout the cushion, back, and arms, which give the back of it a characteristic scallopy shape. It is one piece and does not have removable cushions, so I'm afraid it would be pricey to re-cover the unharmed couch and all of the buttons near new red velvet. This couch is totally rad, but it is contained by serious need of restuffing and recovering. Pretty much everything except the frame itself desires replacing. I paid $40 at the Salvation Army for this couch surrounded by 1999, so I have gotten my money's worth and it is probably time to utter goodbye, but I'm just afraid that I won't know how to love a new couch reasonably the way I do this one. Is it overly pricey to refurbish?

Answers:    Generally it is going to cost more or possibly the same to custom cover a sofa than it will cost to buy a untried one. If it is sentimental and comfortable, then why not recuperate it?
