Question on Tile/Grout? I just finished my shower, it have been 3+ years since...
I just finished my shower, it have been 3+ years since I own done remodeling, so my question is. How long do you hold to wait since using the shower? Also the grout I used said to use the sealer 3 days after grouting, do I have to loaf that long? Does it really matter?
THANKS
I'd hang about it out, man. After the suggested dry time of the sealer, you're safe, but the later thing you want to do is re-hydrate the grout. I denote, the only grout I ever used suggested you re-wet it a bit bit occasionally over the curing process, but not to the extent that a shower would do it.
It does matter, and it depends on your grout. I used a pre-mixed I get at the local Lowes. It said it was dutiful for surrounds. I waited the time scheduled and then started using the shower. After a week the grout started to swell and come out. I called the grout produce and they said that Lowes had pressured them to put the surround application on the pkg but they know it was a problem and they PAID for me to own a contractor come dig the grout out and replace it.
Cement have a curing rate that cannot be rushed. Follow the label directions. If you used pre-mixed grout continue an extra 14 days. After the prescribed time put on sealer, it works wonders for keeping the grout clean and mildew free. You can put on the caulk the subsequent day, next a couple of more days for the caulk to dry.
I don't know how they build bathrooms in a week on extreme home bring in over but I bet all their showers escape in a month.
Answers: Very minimum is 2 FULL days so grout is dry; although, 3 days would pass you a more positive knowledge that grout is dry throughout. In meantime, lift tub bath withOUT steam count moisture back into grout. So, own door open, freshening, not real hot sea, etc.. to avoid moisture and not allowing the drying process. Sealer normally dries (cure) briskly within a 1/2 hours of daylight.
