I want my bedroom decorating surrounded by a vintage hollywood glamour style, sort of 20s - mid 40s i really dont know what to do!!!!!!!!! i cant find anything that would help me , if at hand are any people that are honourable at interior design out there later i would be incredibly grateful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Painting a room?
Answers:    Hi. First thing you should do is wish on an era as they
were adjectives different from each other. The 20's be strictly
Art Deco, very modern, next to blond woods and geometric
shapes. There was a potter name Clarice Cliff who
will inspire you for color and design...check her out at
a bookstore or the library. They used a lot of blue cup
mirror and crystal. The thirties was softer, next to a more
feminine sensibility. In decor, they started bringing in
lots of soft velvet and lace near rounded, feminine furniture
and a sort of Art Nouveau revival theme. The forties be
quite manly with profusely of emphasis on aged Hawaiian
prints and bamboo, etc....more practical and offhand.
Each of these had their own exceptional brand of glamour.
If you want to see the theatrical side of these, it's best
to rent some aged movies from those eras and copy down
decorating accepted wisdom. I can give you a few that will span
adjectives the eras. One is to surround any large mirror you may
hold with lights. You can buy lights encased within plastic
tubing in a long strand, wrap them surrounded by some sheer organdy
(make a sheath of fabric and slide it through) and sew
vintage flowers, crystals or anything that sparkles on
to it for effect. Satin pillows on a satin quilt
with faux fur is another method to bring some glamor in.
There are so copious fantastic and inexpensive movie
posters now. Get some (they're really cheap) and
buy some inexpensive framing to move about around and
put them on all your walls. You can variety a faux
four poster with drapes around by buying some
interlocking tubing, forming it into a square the
size of your bed, lifeless it above your bed from
the ceiling with huge, screw in hooks and sliding
cloth onto the tubing like curtains to totally
enfold you or you can tie it all support. If you're
going for the twenties, take an existing mirror or
return with one cut into a large round and spray some creamy
frosted spray through a stencil around the borders to
immitate the old etched cup from the 20's. This
ought to get you started. Good luck, I did this once
and it be so much fun. I used the 40's, bamboo
point with older Hawaiian prints and big bamboo for
a four poster and top. Very Dorothy Lamour!!!
What should I do until that time repainting...
antediluvian antique mirrors, makeup table/vanity type thing, sheer curtains, cream/ muted colors, nouveau artwork. hope some of that help! i always do a google depiction search when i'm stuck.
