We are painting 3 rooms a dark color. the walls are really well painted already but the colors are horrid and they have need of a touch up anyways. Is primer really necessary? and when it comes to room size surrounded by square feet, how much paint do we requirement? the rooms are kinda big with 9 foot ceiling, like 16x16. by dim colors I mean hunter green and burgandy. and when are 2 coats of paint needed? and are in attendance ways around it? we hate sculpture and want to make it as fun and glib as possible. we are also on a very small and strict time budget. gratitude!
With colors like that, you should noticeably use primer. Use colored primer, and you might be able to draw from away with one coat. Just a air though, if you're thinking of selling any time soon, stay away from hunter green and burgundy. Those colors are really out dated.

If you don't want two coats definatly use primer. This link should help out you with how much paint you requirement.

Answers:    If the paint is oil bottom that is on wall very soon you will have to put a kiltz primer on.If not it will din off.
If you are doing cloudy over a dark, roll it even so within will not be any streaks,if the paint is flat that is on the wall very soon, you can go beside -flat,oil,or latex.I my self do latex. It is confident to wipe down.It may take two coats. If so variety sure your first coat is dry all the bearing before adding together second coat.
