Painting my own room.... ? Hey, im in class 8 and im thinking of painting my own...

Hey, im in class 8 and im thinking of painting my own room. My mom requests me to get it professionally done but later id enjoy to wait until summer which seem too far for me. is it really that hard? Can you inform me all the things that ego need to monitor out for? thanks So much, i appreciate it :D
Painting isn't that hard, if you are surrounded by eighth grade you must be around 13 or 14. I have painted a couple of houses by the time I was that age. Home Depot and Lowe's have classes on lots of DYI things, Painting included. I would suggest to your Mom if you both could go to one of those classes and once she see how easy it is maby the two of you could do it together. At most minuscule she might let you do it your self if you be serious enough to nick the class. Use water base latex paint. Use tape, plastic, and drop cloths to protect anything you don't want to take paint on. Pull off cover plates. patch any little holes and insubstantially sand. If there are any stains prim next to stain blocker(kilz). Use brushes to cut in the corners, baseboards and ceiling, and a roller for the larger areas. Start at the top and work your bearing down. Watch for runs and holiday's(not enough paint). Don't be contained by to much of a hurry and have a appropriate time, especially if you and your Mom do it together. Good Luck

It depends on the room.

If any of these are true:
- the walls are textured
- the ceilings are over 10 ft
- the room is not a box shape
consequently you should probably listen to your mom. It is her house, it costs money to paint, and if you mess it up (spill paint or do a really bad job) next she'll have to foot to get it fixed.

In the niggardly time, just catch a couple of posters or wall hangings to hide the color. Another cool entry to do is to cut stars out of tissue paper and use putty to put them adjectives over your walls. This looks really cool, and will give you a tuning before the summer when you can own the room painted professionally.
Answers:    Hi! Get Mom's go-ahead 1st! Easiest to paint will be a color close to what u already have on the walls...use moral quaility LATEX paint, (water-based)...put down drop-cloths and watch where on earth u walk so u don't track it on the floor. Move out the furniture or cover it....
Check for stains...holes on the walls...they can be patched w/ a premixed filler check if panelling or sheetrock/plaster. Let dry according to instructions. Prime stains, etc, w/ something like'Kiltz' they put together a latex get it not the grease based... grease base is harder to verbs up both equipment and spills spots. With latex u carry a raining rag and ANY spot /splash u verbs right away or it will STAY.
Start w/ a good brush and 'cut in' the edges where on earth a roller won't reach...around window, doors, corners of the room...paint out about 4" or so.
Then draw from ur roller and tray... hopefully when u buy ur paint they mix it for u...because it can be time consuming to slowly mix pigment if it has sit for any lenght of time. U still have to mix it w/ a skinny wooden paddle(paint stirrer) I do not recommend using an electric mixer attached to a drill for beginners.... it can be desasterous!!! Think cake batter on 'high' only much harder to verbs up!
By the way, if ur dad or another handy type can assist u this can be fun.. and a study experience!
then u pour some/ not full.. paint into the roller tray, and nouns ur roller..apply to wall..in a 'W' shaped cut-out back and forth untill the wall is covered...
Be sure to wear antediluvian clothes, cover ur hair and i wear latex gloves or apply paw lotion to ur hands so it will clean up up easier.
Be responsible....don't leave a mess for ur mom, other cover .. put the lid back on ur paint can or it will dry out...it is best to win good element paint ...it applies easier and depending on the color u may have one coat coverage.
Ur paint drizzly will look lighter when dry always budge lighter than u want the result. If u use a dark color, don't use like mad of it, maybe one wall, a niche or articulation point.
Good luck and hope this helps... u can look to DIY or one of the paint companies' network site for more handy hints...
