Painting Cabinets within winter? We are trying to sell our home and our kitchen cabinet need...
We are trying to sell our home and our kitchen cabinet need to be painted beforehand we can do that. We want to upgrade the kitchen to add attraction.
How can we do this, since we can't really leave the cabinet outside to dry or to paint them since its winter and very cold.
Hubby think we can't do it inside, but I think we can, if we maintain doors and windows approachable. We have in the order of 12 cabinet doors to take rotten and paint, and we have a kitchen table we can do it on (we are getting a investigational one anyways)
Ideas?
Answers: Why do you need to strip them first? I meditate you could scuff then beside 150 grit sandpaper and use a bonding primer. Then finish them with 2 coats of semi comment on paint. Instead of the kitchen table I would set up sawhorses on dropcloths. Use a good latex paint and odors won't be an issue. Oil platform paint has more odors and take ten times as long to dry.
Maybe do them in the garage? or on the kitchen table close to you said, just be sure to maintain the room ventilated, and cover your work surface and adjectives around the surface too. Painter's tip, add rather bit of vanilla extract to the paint to help acquire rid of the nasty paint smell. Also, perchance add different hardware to the doors, that will help upgrade the look too. Classic White is other a good paint color too.
