Painting bedroom set? I have two dressers and two nightstands that are oak and pretty...
I have two dressers and two nightstands that are oak and pretty dated... I want to liven them up next to paint and new hardware.. do I sand the gleaming stuff off first or can I simply prime, paint and add unknown hardware? Is this a project for outside? Thanks in credit for all your tips, tricks and oblige!
Answers: You need to sand down the wood so the paint will know how to adhere to it. Then you inevitability to prime the furniture. I suggest Kilz primer. Then you should put on 2 coats of paint along with a clear coat to formulate it nice and shiny. You may want to sand down the furniture outside but you don't necessarily have to do any of this outside if you don't want. It would probably be easier though.
You own to take sour the old paint first..home depot have all kind of stuff for that. They are helpful in that.
