Painting a dollhouse? I bought my daughter one of those huge dollhouses, that hare...
I bought my daughter one of those huge dollhouses, that hare like 5 foot and enjoy 3 storys. It was from a garage Dutch auction, and the person who have it before put stickers adjectives over the walls. I has the type of "wallpaper" that when you coat off a sticker, the "wallpaper" peel off, departing a cardboard colored surfae. If I were to paint ontop of the "wallpaper" near tempera paint and regular eggshell finished wall paint, would it stay on? Or would it chip off?
Answers: Try to insubstantially sand the surface first because if the surface is a paper texture, the paint will not stick properly. I would not use tempera paint either, it basically doesn't have the UVA/UVB protection that other paints own and will change color over time, flake, become chalky and lighter colors pallid. You can use latex or craft acyrlic paints with much better results. Also, I other used a primer on my dollhouse walls to smooth application and give better adhesion.
