I need to repaint my apt. unsure of the colors --landlord said cant paint anything Id like. as long as i repaint it back I move. My apt is about 600-650 sq foot..(estimate) How many gallons of paint would I necessitate to do 2 coats on my walls...What color? My furniture is mostly dark oak..depressing couches.. I want something to brighten up the place..any suggestions on what to do in ea. room. kitchen livingroom bedrooms and bathroom..Thanks...
Answers: one gallon per room should be satisfactory.
I assume you don't want white, since that's probably what it is now. I would use something similar to "whispering peach" by Behr within the living room & kitchen, "tropical breeze"for the bathroom, "glazed pecan" and "chenille" for the bedrooms. All of these colors were chosen from Behr's color coordinator so they'll categorically match and they're adjectives light & bright.

Probably almost 4 gallons-check into pearl or such on sheen-it looks flat but can be cleaned easier. Don't know your colors but HGTV.com has a great site you can refer to for that and philosophy. Think about an elocution wall or two-you might really like that. Behind your bed, leading wall of l/r etc. Also a fun brighter color in kitchen-but surrounded by the same own flesh and blood as accents or main-
