ok so i bought a zebra print rug and white towels with a stripe of zebra print at the bottom, along with a funky mirror near a bunch of angled little mirrors around a center square one. the cabinets under my sink are a maple wood color, and i bought bright red paint for the walls. but herein lies the problem- i don't deem the red paint with the zebra print pattern will move about with the maple cabinets. what do you reflect?
also, if i do use the red paint, what color do you think the linoleum should be?
or, if i just hold on to the zebra print stuff (because i can't do anything to the maple cabinets), what color should the walls be?
Thanks!!
The only thing something like red paint is that for a small space, like a bathroom, it would be too overwhelming. The zebra stuff is cool, but maybe check the color. Go with the red, but, I would use more of a brick red or a burnt ginger color and hang some pictures with brown frames to blend the maple cabinet into the color scheme.
I'd paint the walls white and then use black paraphernalia, like a soap dispenser, valance (if you have a window), toothbrush holder, dribble away basket and lotion dispenser etc. If you have more wall space art work beside black frames would coordinate nicely in your just this minute decorated bathroom. My opinion is this...what do you want the focal point to be? The zebra strip sounds resembling it to me. The red walls would compete for wow factor. I would do a coffee with cream color. That way the pattern will be the target and won't be overshadowed by competing red.
Just my 2 cents
Answers: I would stick with the red, but maybe do a maple brown color trim to progress with the cabinets. Keep the zebra print and supply a couple more exotic things, like wooden giraffes or chunky vases and a plant, conceivably some masks. These can all be found pretty inexpensively second mitt or at Wal Mart. Maybe try for an African theme?
It'll be relaxing and still maintain an productive, passionate feeling.
I hope that help.
Good luck! Have fun with it and be creative!

i would go next to black and white like the 60's it would be neat.
