I need help to fix this.
I own primed and painted my room and when taking off blue tape I've notice paint and primer peeling off.
I enjoy no idea what kind of paint be there originally (probably flat) but when rubbing on the wall you get your foot dirty . like a residue, is that normal?
If i want to scrape it off, what's the best and fastest method.

thank you
you gone the tape on to long you should of took the tape of as soon as you finished priming the walls afterwards out knew tape up past you painted and after you painted took the tape off right away.that would of stoped it from crumbling.

Could be grease based enamel or worse, if it is a very dated house, a milk based paint. If the house is heated with an grease burner or if they used a kero burner for spot heat, you can end up next to an oily surface on everything and a fine soot particularly if at hand was a kero burner. There are all sorts of primer wash that take the glaze sour things like enamel or worse case in attendance has been a fire contained by the house and there is some sort of an oily residue vanished. A professional cleaning service can take test swipes and notify you what has to be done.
I had a milk base paint on my doors in my Victorian. NO commercial paint remover takes it past its sell-by date effectively. one easy way to repair the peel patches is to use a joint compound.delicately sand the area around the peeling later put on a skim coat let it cure, then sand is so that in that are no edges. prime it with a quality primer(2 coats) and use a apposite quality paint.. make sure that if you're using painter tape to either remove it directly or score the edges of the tape so that it will not crust again.. I can sincerely recommend this process considering I had the almost the same problem did the above process and voila.. Just finished my kitchen yesterday.. Good Luck.
