i am a teen and i want a fun bright room that i would love for a while. i was thinking of fine art my room two different colors. i was going to do differing walls.. 2 hot pink and two lime green. the bedding would be a reversable conforder .. grenn/pink with green/pink pillows and whit and green sheets. i also be thinking of adding some aqua blue?? not sure if its a angelic idea though?? please support me out .. i am s0o0o confused!!
1] first find your bedding, then use the shades contained by it for choosing paint colors
2] don't do two and two unless your room is a good size - one bright wall at herald of bed or first wall you see when you enter is good.
3] put up pink sheers on lime wall; and lime sheers on pink wall.
4] carry lime, pink, and turquoise or aqua [ depending on how bright first two are ] throw pillows [ same shades as bedding - buy at same time! ]
5] use one metal [ brass or chrome ] throughout the room for pic frames, lamps, candle holders, mirrors
6] repeat the lime, pink, the metal and the aqua/turquoise surrounded by other accessories - stool, lamp/shades, vase, planter, ornaments, desk/dresser items, candles. Use the blue shade just in items smaller than the pillows, so colors won't be overwhelming.
First let me applaud you for your creativity and courage beside color. Hot pink and Lime Green are two very big colors right in a minute. They are also both very bright and loud- which could eventually be scratchy to your eyes. My suggestion would not be to paint all your walls next to those two- leave at tiniest one wall white or off-white. This way your eyes hold at least one place they can step when they need to relax.
You can do one wall pink, the in front of green, and the other two white. You can do one white, one pink, two green (or vice versa). If you want to bring in aqua, you can do one pink, one green, one aqua, and one white.
Another item you can try (but it will take time and energy to do it right) is stripes on some of the walls (not all). Start by painting even all the same chunky (abt 3-5 inches) stripes on your walls, alternating the colors- green, white, pink, white, green, white, pink, white, etc. In the middle of each white stripe, paint a smaller (1-2 inch) stripe of aqua. This may nouns weird or monstrous, but if it is done right it really pops and looks cool.
Before you buy the paint, get the comforter and bedding first. It's easier to meeting the walls to the fabric later it is to match the cloth to the walls.
Good luck with anything you decide to do!!!
BTW...hug your parents for letting you do this...my mom said no to every cool opinion I wanted to do next to my room.
Answers: We did my daughters room with green, purple and blue. It be too much. We ended up shifting it after a year. Now we have one simple color, and we lately change the curtains and comforter when we want a transmutation.
