I would shift with a green, resembling "Inland" by Sherwin Williams. With the brown carpet & sunburn couch, the green will give the room a thaw, natural atmosphere.
If you want to do different colors above & below the stool rail, after I would do "inland" above and a darker green, similar to "rock bottom" below.
