Okay we painted our little girl's room lilac with white trim. It's really beautiful. There is one wall next to closet bifold doors, which of course take up a perfect portion of the wall. Now I was thinking of painting the doors beside chalkboard paint. Right now they are white. I understand you can win the paint in different colors, however I'm not so sure how it would look to paint them pink or purple or if these colors work as well near chalk. I'm leaning more towards the black. But I'm afraid it may be too much black? I'd just close to some advice on what others think. the chalkboard color and trim. Wish I could ponder of something to spruce up the chalkboard and make it a little more girly or appealing. I'm quality of a decorating dummy. thanks
I'm not sure about the chalkboard paint, but to play up the board you could product a fancy frame to put around it. Make it look like lace or if you know someone good next to a jigsaw ask a favor. A frame is pretty simple to put together. Just cut the corners in a 45 degree angles. Why not stencil the doors beside stencil paint! Theyhave some really beautiful designs. It is fairly undemanding, as well!
I would get it in the chalkboard green. It's a dull color and goes well near lilac or purple. I have a room painted a dark purple and enjoy green accents. I would not paint all the doors though, simply one. Another one could be covered with cork, which you can get contained by sheets. Outline both with small trim to give a finished look. I would prefer to a moment ago purchase a chalkboard and hang on the closet door or wall and maybe paint the trim around it to meeting her bedding.
An even better idea is you could purchase a corkboard the same size as the chalkboard paint the trim lilac and attach one to respectively closet door, one for drawing, the other for hanging art work or photos.
Answers:    You could brand name your own chalkboard paint, instead of buying any store-offered colours (which may be quite limited). This way, you could any make a gray (less harsh-looking than black) or a shade of green that is lighter than standard chalkboard-green. If you're worried nearly chalk not showing up on these colours, you can buy chalkboard "markers". I don't know the name of where to buy, but restaurants repeatedly use them on menu boards.

HTH!
You can get the chalkboard paint surrounded by any color, so you can have the chalkboard in equal color as your walls. Here's my caveat.how do you make your child understand where on earth the chalk appropriate surfaces end and begin. I hold a source for tintable chalkboard, email me and I will share it with you. Chalkboard paint is not inexpensive. A quart will cover about 25 square foot...you have to double coat it at least, three coats is optimal. Depending on how muddy your color is, it may or may not make a good chalkboard. Good luck!
