Answers: Get yourself some boxes or laundry baskets and put them out within the hall and sign them:
Junk
Goodwill
Sentimental
Misplaced
Put on some music that energizes you and start at the door and work your way contained by.
First, pick up everything from the floor and sort it into those boxes. When the junk box is full, it go to the garbage can or the recycle bin right away. When the Goodwill box is full, set it aside for your mom to look through... just surrounded by case there's a disagreement (I'm assuming you're pretty young).
Sentimental stuff is stuff you'd approaching to keep till you own a house of your own, but don't need to hold at present. Ask your mom to help you store this stuff out of the means of access.
Misplaced stuff is stuff you want to keep, should be contained by your room (or elsewhere -- like the pizza plate and three specs from under the bed) and merely not stored properly.
Put the stuff that doesn't belong in your room put a bet on in its proper place.
Keep going. If it's a really big mess, and you're notion overwhelmed, set yourself a time limit... approaching an hour today, an hour tomorrow, etc. At the end of the pickup time, sit down and sort the misplaced box stuff that in reality belongs in your room. Put it put a bet on in the proper place if you can achieve to it,
and if you can't, leave it surrounded by the box and drag the box back into a clear spot surrounded by your room.
When the floor is clean, work on the rest of it. When the rest of it have been sorted, start on the closet.
Take up where on earth you left bad the next daylight, until you've handled every single item within your room at least once. Chances are you've removed satisfactory stuff that you can now try to bring together what's there contained by a logical order.
Now hang around a week and do the boxes again... junk, Goodwill, sentimental, misplaced. Make special data of anything that's shown up in the misplaced box twice in a minute. It's either a impossible habit or you haven't get good storage for anything it is.
Wait another week and do it again. This time sit down and really look carefully at the misplaced stuff. Could the hockey pad be stored more logically in the garage or underground store? Do you have too masses clothes? (if so, the misplaced box probably has the stuff you wear most -- so shift look at the closet again for stuff you can give to goodwill!) Do you entail some specific organization equipment, close to another or a taller bookcase, or a second closet pole? Do you need a jewelry box, or an earring tree? If so, sermon to your mom about it, and what you have a sneaking suspicion that the solutions might be.
By about the third time through your room, you should enjoy all the extra stuff out and your "honourable stuff" stored properly, and I suspect you're going to be putting the rest of the stuff away properly at least most of the time.
So very soon you're on a maintenance plan.... five minutes in the past bed *every day*, pick up the clutter, put the glasses spinal column in the kitchen, dangle stuff up in the closet or put it elsewhere contained by
an orderly fashion. If you want to really impress, verbs out tomorrow's clothes and lay them out so you can get dressed
contained by a hurry. Make your bed in the morning. (If you're really a morning human being (most teenagers aren't), do the daily pickup surrounded by the morning instead of just formerly bed.)
Once a week, change your sheets, vacuum or sweep the floor,
