i want to paste vintage music sheets on one wall. it looks romantic. how should i arrange it and what would i use to fasten it?
Answers: I've done this with music sheets, antediluvian restaurant menus and most lately with vintage French wine label. A few hints. The menus and music sheets are large and show every fault on the wall underneath them. If you have textured walls, every little bump lower than the page will show and also creates air pockets that contribute the opportunity for the glue to move up over time. To remedy this, use either wall quality newspaper liner beneath the pages or mount them on scrubby cardboard sheets.
Also, the sheet music looks vintage if you treat it first. You can use the tea stain method or use a water thinned adjectives umber paint over the sheet. If you don't like the difficulty of pasting down burned edges (the article ashes and is difficult to get a moral glue stamp as a result), burnt umber painted along the edges give the same effect.
To arrange them, slapdash directions, overlapping and cutting bad corners add huge interest. To mount them, use any spray adhesive close to Super 77 by 3M for the best hold and the ability to reposition for a few second or decoupage medium close to Mod Podge.
The most important allusion is to seal them beside a non-yellowing UVB/UVA protecting polyurethane when you are done. This keeps the behind the times paper contained by tact, keeps the sun from bleaching out the ripened ink and will make it much easier for you to hold them clean.
Fun project, hope this help.
