My husband and I will be moving from a house into an apt.
How does one decide what to take? Personally I would close to to
keep it very simple.
Any suggestions?
THEN KEEP IT SIMPLE, TAKE MAJOR FURNITURE ITEMS AND PERSONAL ITEMS. HAVE A MOVING SALE AND YOU CAN USE THAT MONEY TO GO IN ANY DIRECTION YOU WANT TO IN YOUR NEW PLACE.
When my mum and her in a minute husband moved from a largish three storey town house to a smaller home, they didn't have enough room for adjectives their furniture. They moved the bigger non essential items like cupboards etc into a storage room they rented then subsequent sold what they had left on Ebay. It might be worth renting storage room in the past the move so items can be taken there quickly if they're too big for the unmarked house or simply won't be needed.
As for what you'll need, it'll depend on what you have within the new place. Is it partially furnished at adjectives? Some properties are, particularly the kitchens, so just nick the essentials: Bed, chairs, tables and some cupboards for clothes. Also make a upright collection of cleaning products so you can clean the new place as you progress. Simple is definitely better. I would only nick what is absolutely necessary (like small appliances, lamp, dishes, etc), things I absolutely need (sheets, towels, etc), and entry I cannot live without (you decide here). the rule of thumb is if you enjoy not used it in six months, you probably do not inevitability it. How much space do you have for furniture and storage? That should start to be some guide. How far away is the apt? Will it be more expensive to transport it than to buy new? We plan to move cross-country so we are not planning to help yourself to much. Good luck.
Answers: first record essentials, things you must have. then schedule things of value to you that you would like to preserve. if you haven't touched it for a year, it needs to go. weed out prehistoric clothing, appliances, books, bedding and linens, kitchen items. all excess needs to be in motion. items of more value on e-bay. items of lesser expediency in a moving or garage sale. relics donated to s-army. if you have large stuffed toys or souveniers or stuff
that take up room and has emotional pro, take a picture of it. pictures keep memories alive short having to store everything. moving is a great time to freshen up you life and start over. well brought-up luck in your new place!
