My living room is a tan (typical builder paint color) the molding is white. I hold garnet colored couches the legs a mahogany color and one rocker that is small checker suntan and cream. My armoir is also mahogany. I have inherited art work which is full of color and some black & white photographes. My drapes are mainly garnet near small orange, washed out, celery green, purple and blue vertical stripes. I made a pillow with one and the same fabric to put on the rocker. As you can see I love color. I want to paint the walls but I'm not sure if that would be for a time much. What do you think? And I would close to to make some pillows for the couches but I don't know what color or if I should nix that impression. I'm driving myself crazy with adjectives these ideas. Please help out me.

After reading your extensive description of your living room, Celery green keeps jump out at me.
Perhaps a lighter hue of the "celery green' that is contained by your drapes would be a good choice.
What charitable of floor do you have. Is it wood, hearth rug or something else?
Whatever you chose for your wall color, keep it a standard lamp color.
First -- paint your walls, take a step rear legs, see how your room looks and then prefer on the pillows for your couch.

*edit*-- No problem at adjectives with your inclusive description. It be late at darkness for me and I needed to visualize it in my mind. Sure sounds particularly lovely!!!
Tan carpet---hmmmm......I'm still going with a shade of "celery green".
I would move about to the paint store and get some of those paint "chips", bring them home and try to visualize a wall color that you approaching. It has help me tremendously in the past-- when I have difficulty picking a color.
