I recently have some new cabinetry installed, next to a built-in shelf unit designed especially per dimensions of the microwave.
We didn't thieve into account the plug/outlet placement surrounded by the center back of this shelf part.
The microwave would be a perfect fit, but the bulky-ness of the plug cause it to hang over the shelf around an inch or so.
Any suggestions to fix this problem? What are my options.
Answers: You requirement to get a different outlet or replace the power cord near a right angle plug connection. There is a special outlet that allows plugs to turn in deeper within the box. You would have to take an electrician to install it. Changing the cord on the microwave is probably just as difficult. Unless, you enjoy a handy man nearby who will do it for you.
cut the plug bad the cord and buy a flat one from home depot and wire it on.
