I've got a roll of mat that is too substantial to be rolling out to measure tolerate alone move around - what ways could I figure the length? Thank you!

to make the multiplication but I think it's more complicated than it wants to be. You could probably get a appropriate estimate by measuring the diameter of respectively winding of runner and then multiply that by pi (3.14). This will pass you the circumference for each bending in inches which will be your linear length when it's unrolled. Add up adjectives your winding "lengths" and you'll own close to the full length. The length will still be in inches so divide by 12 to bring feet. Multiply by the depth of the roll and you'll have the toal square foot. Also, you want to measure the diameter to the underside of the hearth rug so you don't overestimate the diameter.

If the rolls are very big and enjoy too many windings to means each, you could further simplify it by counting the number of windings and measure the inner and outer windings and just evenly divide it out. Then progress through the same process as above...multiply respectively by pi, add them up, etc.

If you try it and later use the carpet it would be interesting to see how close the estimate be to the actual value.
attain an empty roll and estimate it out piece by piece as you roll it onto the second roll
