Answers:    The popular notion is that lighter colors make a room have a feeling larger, but I've also heard that shady colors in a small room breed the walls appear to recede.

I think it really depends on the moods you're trying to create, tho. I enjoy small bedrooms as well, and I used a misty red wallpaper in one & unlit blue (SW's "Tempe Star") in the other b/c it make the rooms feel "cozy." If you prefer a more airy atmosphere, afterwards lighter colors are for you. You can always ask the paint store clerk to "step down" the intesity of dark colors that you like.

Some of the lighter SW colors that I resembling, tho, are "soft apricot," "languid blue," and "baize green." You could always paint one articulation wall a darker color, and the other 3 something lighter. Or paint the bottom partially of the wall a dark color, and the top partially a light color next to a wallpaper border in between. Lots of possibilities.

I keep watch on lots of HGTV & read lots of decorating magazine. After seeing all of the cool colors that they paint the rooms, I thought, "Wow, near are so many option out there and they *all* look perfect."

I don't know Yowza but my answer is to use a lighter color. Darker colors surrounded by small rooms make them quality like they are even smaller. Lighter brightens up the space and will spawn it feel similar to there is more room.

Good luck!
