Living room colours HELP needed!? Please help - I am going to buy paint for my living...

Please help - I am going to buy paint for my living room and passageway tonight. I have tried loads of tester pots, but cant reasonably find the right one.

The room is very generous, although it doesnt get that much wishy-washy. It has a dado banister around it, and it will probably have a faded beige hearth rug. I want to stick to neutrals - some sort of brown around the bottom and pale on top, but I can catch the right shades. I dont want TOO MUCH contrast between the two, but then again, I want to know how to notice the difference surrounded by the two shades!

PLEASE HELP - can you suggest me two nice dulux colours that would work? I just cant get up my mind!
What brand of stinking candles do you approaching...

Removing wallpaper?
earthy colors are "in" in a minute. Why don't you try a nice greyish neutral, not too muddy on the bottom and manilla color on top?
