I have an 70 year behind the times bungalow that curently has carpeting. I would close to to install laminate flooring but have be told that the floor has warp and slopes that would make laminate not a viable substitute. Any options or planning for me?
honestly, if you have severe slopes, runner is your best option unless you want to really catch in to some woodwork work..sounds to me like the seal under your plywood hold settled over the years and someone would have to travel in and fix that contained by order for other types of flooring..I enjoy installed laminate, hardwood and vinyl over less severe slopes but if they are really unpromising I would just install hearth rug.

I would install a sub-floor of 3/4" waffer board using solution nails and screw.
On top of that I would go over the sub-floor next to a 20lb or 30 lb. felt quality newspaper for a vapor barrier. Then higher than that, if you want, install the special pad that they formulate for laminate flooring. Personally I think specifically just a surplus of money. Then install the laminate flooring.

Answers:    Did anyone recommend a sub flooring? This is where they steal something such as masonite or plywood and place it over the old flooring using gooey nails and screw. The liquid nail help withe the creaks. Anyway, I would check next to a carpenter about this, or someone who is handy to see if this is an selection. Also laminate flooring is a floating floor, it is on a pad.
