What's the order of how things should be done? We're getting brand new cabinets, appliances, countertops, backsplash and flooring.
Answers: 1st - Make a drawing of your existing kitchen
2nd - Make a revised drawing of how you want your spanking new kitchen to look, walls, appliance location, etc?
3rd - Based of your revised drawing, make a register of all your selection, ex: texture style, paint colors, cabinet design & color, counter top type, design & color, flooring, etc.
4th - Order a trash container and have them park it somewhere by your kitchen & somewhere where on earth it wont be in anyones opening.
5th - Demo / gut your kitchen completely
6th - Mark where alien appliances are going Ex: stove & fridge
7th - run all called for plumbing & electrical to the correct locations
8th - replace any bad frame lumber
9th - if any exterior walls, insulate them
10th - dangle new drywall (in houston we usually use 1/2")
11th - cartridge, float & texture drywall
12th - construct or install your kitchen cabinets
13th - if you removed any cased opening or doors when you demoed, now is a polite time to set them back within.
14th - run any necessary baseboard and or trim
15th - If you constructed your cabs, after is time to paint or stain them, as well as your trim & walls
16th - set your countertops
17th - flooring
18th - hardware (knobs, pulls, etc.)
19th - appliances
20th - electrical trim, electrician can probably hook up the dish washer for you, save your going to have to achieve the plumber to do it when he comes and sets in the fresh sink
21st - plumbing trim
22nd - shoe mold
23rd - paint touch up
24th - Get Cooking...!
