I have 3 windows on one wall that I would similar to to hang floor lenghth decorative drapes .On the far right corner here is the hearth of a fireplace that does not allow one drape to reach the floor. Should I a short time ago stick with valances only? Is it a unpromising idea to have one custom drape to rise above the fireplace and the others to the foor?
Yes, it would definitely look out of place. If you are looking for something to darken a room perchance you can get stylish wood blinds then attach a colorful valance to match the rest of your furniture, etc.
specifically not a good idea. How roughly speaking decorative roman shades with trim on the bottom to donate the softness of fabric but also taking care of privacy. Or...perchance you can do one nice full panel per window and drape it back to one side (pull it posterior away from the fireplace)
good luck I've got a upright idea but see if it suits your style.
Why don't you hang drapes of decreasing length?
The first skylight could have a long one,the second a shorter one and the third a much shorter one.the third one won't touch the hearth. This cut-out will look stylish, different and functional.
Answers: Could you compromise and decorate the windows beside drapes that fall just beneath the pane sill rather than all the track to the floor? It would be more dramatic than valances, but hopefully eliminate the problem you mention with the fireplace. (Unless the mantel is also in the way..)
