Is it okay to paint over wood paneling?

sure it is, I did in my room and now it only just looks like light wan panels.

The 70's house deco got to my ceiling too, but you can only just scrape off the sparkly popcorn ceiling. I surmise. Is it hazardous?
Yes it is. You are probably referring to crappy plywood paneling. I've painted over this stuff many times because it is so atrocious, and it actually looked better. Nothing is more grating on the sensibilities that fake-looking printed-on artificial wood. We have that same question. A cousin told us that we could plaster over it, texture it however we wanted, and paint it. That's what he did, and it looks fine. We done up not having the guts to do it that way, but his looks only fine.
Yes, lately make sure you use primer first. It took us two coats of primer over the wood paneling in my room to hang on to the wood from showing through. Absolutely. Wood paneling is from the 60's. Paint it white!
You can! I've seen it painted over many times and it other looks great! Often paneling is too dark and makes the room threatening due to it usually being on all four walls. Yes you may obligation to use a primer base first to make sure the paint stays on the paneling.
Yes, use a least possible 2 coats... depends if you parents say it's ok or not
Yep...get a good primer coat on first and you won't be capable of see anything except the grooves in the paneling ye! it's best to get paint for wood not walls tho!
Answers:    I've painted over paneling. Just be sure to use a high quality primer if it a obscurity color. Also, be prepared for the paneling to absorb a lot of paint if it is not hermetic with a glossy trademark. It will take several coats in this shield to be able to evenly coat the paint. You will want to do thin coats to prevent paneling from bubbling. It will. It's happen to me.
yes
