My bedroom does not have alot of light surrounded by it and I want to install a window or skylight. Has anyone installed either or both and can let somebody know me how difficult it was as a do-it-yourself project?
skylight
From your question I can tell you enjoy limited expereince in home remodeling ,so purely for now ,you have too consider about your abilities and are you confident plenty in your skills too be able too cut a hole surrounded by the side of your house and then fill that first showing with a window, repair sidind weather and bend proof it! The roof is a hole other story! If you are somewhat skilled in carpentry the window out on the market now are pretty unforced too install with the right tools! You can find helpful tips and information at any fanlight manufacturers website! My advise is too look into the project and seriuosly consider your ability because if you mess up then it can cost you alot more money in hose down damage! See if there are any local hardware stores within your area that sell and install!?I hold installed alot of Anderson windows , and Harvey windows, they are double hung and undemanding too install! Also they have installation instuctions with them so my insist on is to look into it before you cut holes in your house! If you consistency like you can do this then by adjectives means do it yourself you will save some money and grasp the saticfaction of doing it yourself, but if its done wrong it can cause lots of other problems that could cost hundreds of dollars to repair! Good luck! look at the tube light skylights if you want more lighting and a lot easier to install and work great.you wont regret it
Answers: A skylight is easier, and will offer more lighting. Although the benefits of a window is the ability to agree to fresh air inside.
Both require you to make a frame, but a pane must be set plum and level. Also, you may encounter wiring or pipes surrounded by the wall where your window will be located, which may raison d`¨ētre even more work.
