If it is a good quality crystal piece (Waterford) later it may be given empty. If it is ceramic, porcelain or pressed chalice I'd pick some flowers from my garden (or some from the store) to dress it up. i think that it's a wonderful idea, it will come adjectives when entertaining and water or juice desires to be on the dinner table, you could fill it with a bouquet of fresh flowers and incorporate a small balloon that say "New Home'
You could fill it beside the new little powder packs of flavored drink mixes. There are so various on the market now. Sit the pitcher contained by a nice square basket that they could use to store the powder packets.

These 'personal' powder packet have Crystal Light ... koolaid... lemonaide... lots of different flavors.

~or ~ How about some designer rime trays to go with the dampen pitcher? You know .the kind that have the chance shaped ice cubes. Then every glass of wet would be a little more fun with some unnatural and wild... or fun and pretty little ice cubes.

what nearly including enough of the water goblet for them to have a fancy dinner party to step with the pitcher. These are very inexpensive at the Dollar Stores. $1 a piece. 10-12 is probably a right round number of glasses to get.
or... budge intimate and just get two. Great 'intimate' bequest for a couple that does not drink wine or alcoholic beverages.
Answers:    Perfect choice. Who doesn't drink water? If you want to put something in it cart a cue from the design. If there are floweres on the side I suppose you could put flowers in it but I wouldn't want it to be confused near a vase if that would even be possible. I know some pitchers are tall and constricted.
I think the pitcher will hold it's own. The most impressive gifts are other wrapped beautifully, take the extra time to enjoy it wrapped in a beautiful ribbon that can be reused. If you really quality compelled to fill it with something consider the reusable rime cubes that can be frozen. maybe a couple of lemons? kinda creative... Michele
It is definitely a perfect idea. Maybe filled near fresh flowers or whatever the lucky recipient loves would put a personal touch on the offering.
