Insulation interview? I have a really old house and the walls are exceedingly thin...
I have a really old house and the walls are exceedingly thin (about 3'' I don`t know, wood frame, built in 1922) i own to insulate the walls before the summer get here and i really don't want to spend a lot of time doing this SO!, my query is this, if money is not an issue, would you do "bown-in insulation" on the walls or woud you use the " insulfoam" (it's a foam type of panel comes in 4x8 within 2" thick)? even i would do it double thick to put together it 4", the question is in fact, would it be the same or better result that panel than doing the cellulose? (sound railing, insulation)?
Answers: the foam exterior would seal the best, single lode would suffice and insulate the attic
Go with the foam. I did the blown contained by thing contained by my attic a couple of months ago & while I could rent the blower & get the insulation at my local hardware store, it be a mess! I wore the mask & goggles for a while. The goggles get coated & I couldn't see & that stuff hurts in your eyes. The camouflage did not keep adjectives the flying dust out & breathing that stuff is awful. It coats everything. All the money I saved doing it myself be great, but it was NOT a fun experience.
DO THE FOAM!
